Publisher’s Summary:Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.

Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.

Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.

But when Cara’s classmates get swept up by anti-L’eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn’t safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara’s locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.

Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she’s fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

If I had one complaint is that Cara is a terrible blogger. Her blogs are part of the back drop to the story and give the story it’s title. Luckily they are short and don’t fill up too much space in the story.

Review: If you loved Twilight, you’ll love this book. I couldn’t put it down. It has the starcrossed aspect of their relationship going for them and it’s hot.

Aelyx (A-licks) is a super hot alien who has a superiority complex. He views humanity as a waste of space and doesn’t like anything about them or their culture. The more he learns about them though the more he finds to like, even if a certain set of humanity is trying to kill him. He especially likes Cara and eventually falls for her. When he does he realizes that he and his fellow exchange students self-imposed secret mission on Earth is wrong and rushes to make it right… but it might be too late.

Cara agrees Aelyx is hot, but he’s also rude, conceited, and annoying. Still, she tries to be a good host and tries to find something he can eat. She helps him with human references, and how to be a friend. She too falls for him as she comes to understand him more. Underneath his attitude is an intelligent and warm person. The closer she grows to him the more her friends fall away as blind hatred and fear ramp up around the school and the town. What’s a girl to do? Ditch earth for the unknown?

I picked this book up on a whim when I was at the library having seen it all over the blogosphere. The cover is gorgeous. I love the colors. Thanks blogosphere for recommending to me! Totally worth.
